Perimeter Defensive Geniuses: Tony Allen, Jimmy Butler and Avery Bradley

Sometimes, watching great defenders is sublime. Defensive doesn’t have to be defensive. Like the Spurs, LeBron-led-Heat, Warriors, Hawks, and Grizzlies show us, an attacking swarm can wreak havoc on offenses. But individual defense is so much fun to watch, especially on the perimeter. Let’s look at three individual on-ball geniuses.

Tony Allen

Taking joy in grinding down opponents for the last decade.

Jimmy Butler

Taking on the personal challenge of stopping LeBron in the 2013 Playoffs.

Avery Bradley

Does anyone get into a better defensive stance?

Celtics fans dream of Bradley and Smart harassing playoff opponents in a couple of years.
